API P530 Non magnetic Drill Pipe Pup Joints for Oil & Gas Downhole Drilling
Pup Joints are commonly used to adjust the length of the drill string to the elevation of rotary table for easy surface handling and drilling practices. They undergo the same stresses as drill pipe and their performance depends primarily on their superior mechanical properties.
All of our API P530 Non magnetic Drill Pipe Pup Joints are made of a kind of low carbon high chrome-manganese alloy steel, material normally available are P530, P550 or higher grades, which is refined after strict chemical composition ratio and forged to achieve its mechanical properties, to make sure superb mechanical properties of low permeability and high strength. Mainly used for down hole directional drilling.

The primary use of the pup joints is to adjust the overall length of the drill string to land at a specific depth while staying within the working area of the Kelly.
